What impact has the Corona protocol on the visitor registration of live events? This question was the starting point of an informative session via our own online streaming platform Transmisión Livestreams. We had personally invited a number of relations, but registrations also poured in after posts on our socials and in online media. The implementation of the protocol raises a lot of questions in the industry. During the session we provided the answers and presented the solutions Invitado offers.

Chat Carousel

No one-way traffic but interaction

Via a simple webcam stream - for a session like this very functional - Michiel and Rik discussed the online registration, the communication, the medical questions (triage) and the registration on site at the venue. The presentation was interspersed with a number of polls.

The questions brought up by the participants through the group chat and in the Q&A were answered immediately: by a moderator, but also live in the broadcast. By raising their virtual hands individual participants were brought into the broadcast via their own webcam stream. Making the session not just one-way traffic, but muy interactive!

We ended the afternoon with the Chat Carousel, in which the participants were connected in random 2-minute video chats. Feedback was extremely positive: both on the content and on our user-friendly online platform Transmisión.

From participant registration to live registration

Invitations and registration

Two types of participants

Invitees who registered via a personal invitation email only had to confirm their participation in the simple registration form. Interested parties who registered as a result of the posts on our social media used the same registration form, but were placed on a waiting list after their registration. The day before the session, all participants received an email with their personal link to the online event.

2

Technical check and support

Browser, sound and image

A technical check was performed automatically before the start of the session. For example, the compatibility of a participant’s browser was checked and each participant went through the image and sound settings of his or her device. For technical questions, a help desk staffed by Invitado specialists was available.

Chatting

Group chat, 1-on-1 and Chat Carousel

During the session, a group chat was available and participants from the list could also chat 1-on-1 with each other. Notifications alerted participants to new messages. Questions asked in the group chat were answered by Invitado employees, but the most upvoted or relevant questions were also addressed in the broadcast.

After the event, we launched the Chat Carousel, and not for the first time successfully. "This is really fun!" said a participant enthusiastically in a video chat with one of our colleagues. And we hear that response so often that the Chat Carousel is in our opinion an indispensable part of every online event hosted via Transmisión. The system provides random video chat connections between the participants, resulting in surprising online encounters. A chat in the Chat Carousel has a limited length (for this event we set it to 2 minutes). When the time is up, the next connection is automatically established. Recommended!

Streams

Broadcast live, simply via your own laptop

Via Transmisión Livestreams, streams directed by AV parties and pre-recorded movieclips can be broadcast. However, for this session we used the webcam and microphone of a simple laptop. Extremely effective and a good choice if you have a limited budget. Participants who indicated that they would like to contribute could also broadcast live via their own webcam.

5

Interaction

Polls, quiz and Q&A

The participants were able to contribute anonymously via polls. This increased the interactivity of the session. The results were immediately visible to everyone and were also discussed in the broadcast by the speakers. We enlivened the topic 'Medical questions (triage)' via the poll function with a short quiz. By answering the multiple choice questions, the participants were able to participate during the broadcast. The Q&A option was regularly used for the questions that lived among the participants. Our moderator made interesting questions visible and answered them. The questions that were given a like by many participants were also discussed in the broadcast.
