Every two years, Lely from Maassluis organizes a large-scale event: the Lely Future Farm Days. During this event, effective meaning and attention is given to the Lely vision and new products and concepts are launched worldwide. With the event, Lely gives a boost to the global distribution channel (Lely Centers), the company ensures more involvement among employees and informs the agricultural media. This year the Future Farm Days could not take place in Maassluis. D&B event marketing therefore set up a fantastic online edition, in which a star role was reserved for our interactive streaming platform Transmisión Livestreams. And that was awarded in 2021 with a prestigious Gouden Giraffe for best community event!

Four days in close contact with the Lely Centers

Lely works hard on sustainability. When a new product represents a breakthrough in the agricultural sector, it is called a Yellow Revolution. After the official opening - via a plenary stream from a cowshed - no fewer than three of these Yellow Revolutions were presented: the Lely Sphere significantly reduces ammonia emissions, the Lely Exos provides cows in the barn with freshly mowed grass and Lely Horizon helps optimize the business process.

The opening and product presentations were attended by thousands of participants (employees, resellers, VIPS and press), subtitling the stream in eight languages. Via the link with our registration system, each participant was automatically shown the subtitles in his preferred language. Other plenary sessions were translated live by interpreters.

The next days had the Future Sessions on the agenda: interactive breakouts and training courses, again focused on the different parts of the world in which Lely is active. During the event organized by D&B event marketing, the streams were provided by NEOC, which was able to handle the advanced options of our streaming platform very well. Poll results even appeared in Russian directly on the screen in the studio. The cover band SESSION, which concluded the Future Farm Days in a spectacular way after four days, played a set entirely based on the voting behavior of the thousands of participants. What a finale! Only happy faces in the webcam images of the partying home crowd and loads of enthusiastic reactions in the group chat. 'Best online event ever!' one of the participants even said.

Harvesting success with Transmisión Livestreams

This is how we made the difference for Lely

1

Flows and switches

Automatic switching for participants

The varied four-day program in eight languages resulted in no less than 442 flow items in the backend of our system. These items are necessary to automatically guide the participants from one part of the program to another. With one participation link, when a participant logs in, he immediately enters the session that is intended for him and he does not have to 'zap' manually for the next. This also allowed us to ensure that sessions for the international press could only be attended by journalists. Switches were defined to enable smooth switching between the various components. This allows several simultaneous actions to be performed with just one click.

Polls

Results in studio or in streams

The poll module was frequently used during the smaller-scale breakouts. This gave Lely a good idea of what was going on at the Lely Centers worldwide. The results were displayed in the interaction bar or via a separate output on a screen behind the conversation table in the studio. Naturally, the results screen was designed in the corporate identity of the event, just like the entire platform. The band that closed the Future Farm Days 2020 in a spectacular way even let the set list be completely determined by the participants. For the next song there was always a choice of three hits. AV specialist NEOC portrayed the results during the concert in various creative ways.

Support

Our man on the spot

Our specialist was present at the epicenter of the event for four days. As project manager he had translated the entire program into technical flows during the preparations and configured the switches. On location he worked closely with the organization and with the AV specialists of NEOC. He instructed and assisted the D&B event marketing employees who acted as moderators and were able to work independently with the backend of the platform. Together they provided the switches between the different program components and activated and moderated the interaction that took place during the sessions. Questions from participants in the technical helpdesk were answered remotely by Invitado employees.

Home audience in the picture

Enthusiastic images

In the form of a participant matrix, we sent live webcam images of the home audience to a separate output, which could be processed by NEOC in the broadcast. Seeing other participants clearly increased the atmosphere during the closing concert and increased the feeling of togetherness: participants were suddenly no longer just looking at a screen, but also saw how the concert was experienced in other parts of the world. The band members of SESSION, who had to play without an audience due to the corona measures, greatly appreciated this form of feedback and responded enthusiastically to the living room images.
