The year 2024 was a fantastic, Olympic sports year. Also for the municipality of The Hague, which traditionally celebrated the sporting successes at the end of the year during the Hague Sports Gala. In Sportcampus Zuiderpark, the Hague Sports Awards were presented to, among others, Dutch hockey player Duco Telgenkamp and sailor Marit Bouwmeester. But a lot preceded this gala organized by event agency LUSTR. And we and our applications were closely involved from start to finish.

Flexible website: three phases

Where Sportcampus Zuiderpark was the place to be during the gala, the flexible website we developed was the virtual epicentro of this event. During the first phase, champions, referees, sports volunteers and top athletes from The Hague could be registered, then people could vote on the homepage in seven different categories, and already on the day after the gala, the winners, photos and the aftermovie could be seen on the opening page. In addition, the registration process with different target groups, forms and mailings also took place via our system and we provided the online survey.

Thousands of votes, seven prizes

As soon as the election started, hundreds of votes immediately flowed in within a few days. The organisation could easily follow the voting progress on a clear dashboard. Almost 5,000 sports enthusiasts ultimately cast their votes and based on these results and the points given by the jury, the winners were determined. These winners and a lot of guests and vips made their appearance in the Zuiderpark on Monday 16 December, where we ensured that they could quickly enter with 8 hand scanners.

Not just athletes

One by one, the winners were honoured on stage: not only for athletes (individual and team), but also for the coach, the referee and the sports volunteer of the year, there was a Hague Sports Award ready. In anticipation of the results of the survey, we in turn congratulate the organisation (LUSTR and the municipality of The Hague) on a beautiful, flawless evening, in which the local sports successes were celebrated in an appropriate manner.
